Coffee Accessories

Gosh, how cute are these little items from this shop?

I would love to hold a coffee mug with a wool covering around it! Love!
Also, those spoons would make stirring your coffee a whole magical experience, don't you think?

Here are the links to each of these items:

What's Yours?

Morning rituals. Everyone has them. I've been thinking about mine and how the only thing that really stays consistant in my mornings is getting out of bed and making coffee. Other than that- I can be all over the place. Sometimes I do dishes in the morning... sometimes I shower right when I get up- sometimes I not until right before dinner... sometimes I go right to my computer, sometimes I stay in bed and read. I'm all over the place and I think deep down I like it that way. It's part of the reason I love  being a graphic designer. I'm never working on the same thing- there's always something new happening.

So these past few days I've been taking photos of something going on in my morning. Yesterday I made some awesome breakfast sandwiches for my husband and I. (That's a first!) And everyday I make coffee. Everyday. Unless I wake up later than usual and am totally running late-  but then I just make it later on in the day :)

So what do you do in the mornings? Any weird routine? Are you consistant? Inconsistant? I'm just curious :) It's fun to hear the little things about how people live their individual lives, don't you think?

A Few Things...

#1) I had the amazing Kristin Rogers take some photos of me for my new portfolio site I'll be launching here (hopefully) soon! I fell in love with Kristin's house just from seeing it all over her Instagram, and asked her if she might be open to the possibility of shooting me there! She was so kind and said yes. You guys, her house is the cutest thing ever. Check out the pics here!

#2) When I was there, I had to get some shots of me with my laptop and coffee thermos, because they're my on the go / work anywhere / get caffeinated buddies I love to have with me. I couldn't take work pics without them!

#3) After the shoot I left her house and was so excited about the fun time we just had that I totally blanked out and forgot my coffee thermos! Not cool. I didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time, but these past few days when I've gone to reach for my to-go coffee thermos, I've had this huge let down of having to use another one- (the other one is my husband's and not nearly as cute) So I've definitely missed that thing. Kristin doesn't exactly live down the street from me, so I'll have to get it another time... it gives us another excuse to hang though! Right Kristin?! ;)

Anyways... all this to say, I was inspired to draw up a little pic of my thermos because I was missing it today. I know, it's so random, but sometimes (well, a lot of times) that's how I get inspired.

Thermos, I miss you. I took you for granted and I can't wait to have you back.

The end.

It's that time again...

Photobucket

Weekend! I thought I'd get outside the computer and write you a happy weekend note on my chalkboard today, instead of using my tablet like usual. Feels good to switch it up every now and again.

Incase you missed it, this week on the blog I did a tutorial on using your tablet to add hand-written words to your blog posts. I also did a little DIY post over on Kelli Murray explaining how to send your far away friends a coffee care package!

So... I'm getting ready to launch a new website pretty soon here- and I need some good pics of myself. (That sounds weird, but in this internet world where you don't see people face to face, I think good photos are key!) I'm so excited to do a little photo shoot with Kristin Rogers this weekend! (She's the one I blogged about here) I'm also nervos, I hate getting my picture taken, and yet, it's so much fun to dress up and be pretty for the day. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing 3-day weekend friends.

Enjoy it!!

DIY Coffee Care Package!

Hey guys! I am pleased to announce (and totally honored) to have done a little DIY guest post for Kelli Murray over on her blog today! Kelli has been one of my artistic inspirations for many years now, so to have the chance to do something on her blog was so exciting for me :)

The post is all about showing the ones you love that you care about them. And being a huge coffee lover, what better way to do that then sending them a care package full of your favorite coffee items?! I had a great time putting it together and can't wait to send off the package!

Check out the post here!

Happy Thursday friends!

Breaks

Photobucket

I'm realizing that the harder you work, the better it feels to take a good, solid break.

Resting the mind is so important. And you feel like you've deserved it after a long hard work day.

Just some little things I'm starting to figure out.

12/15/11

It's kinda crazy how much I love warm drinks. Especially this time of year. I seem to always be
hugging one in my hands, trying to stay warm. Coffee and apple cider have been my drinks of choice
lately. But last night I had an Oregon chai tea and that was amazing. I am trying to mix it up a little
bit. Anyone know of a good warm winter beverage I've got to try?

Another thing I love is this blog. I know I've blogged her photos before, but seriously, she posts
emotion filled photos of food, happiness and love. And they're captured in a unique and beautiful way.
So that being said, I'm blogging her photos again. Go check it out for yourself! You're bound to
fall in love.

Happy Thursday friends!

Simple mornings sipping coffee, eating cereal and chatting with my best friend.
These are times I am so thankful for.
It's the little things we have to embrace in this world.

So Hard to Get Up

Today I woke up to the rain outside and it made me extra sleepy.

I really just wanted to stay in bed for a few more hours...

Then I remember that coffee and breakfast is my favorite in the rain.

It helped me get up.

Maybe this weekend you'll get some sleep in time- maybe I will too?  :)

In case you missed it, there were some fun posts happening here
this week- roasted pumpkin seeds, knit scarfs and buns, and stuffed french toast with Rachel Oberg.

Have a great weekend friends!!

Coffee in the Morning

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is head to our coffee maker.
Everything just seems better when you can sip coffee through it.

I'm not one of those super skinny girls who says coffee is her favorite meal because
she doesn't eat anything. Oh no, I love to eat. (If you haven't noticed from all my
baking posts) but I can say that in the morning, coffee really is my favorite meal.
Sometimes I'll have toast to go with it. Sometimes eggs. But coffee is always in the mix.

Photobucket

Are you a coffee drinker? I've tried to get into tea but it just doesn't work for me.

Anyways, check out some more of our wedding photos over on Angel Court's blog today.
I did a little guest post for them because Courtney is out traveling around London. (Super jealous)

Have a great morning friends, I'm going to go sip my coffee. bliss.

Lovely Coffee Drinker

This woman is a beautiful coffee drinker, don't you think?

She is an agency owner in Berlin.

She enjoys inviting her contacts to themed dinner parties in her prewar Moabit flat located near the Tiergarten park: “I find it a wonderful way to bring people together who would not otherwise meet,” Silke says. “I’m also wild about cooking.” -exert from her interview here.

I love getting inspired by motivated, successful ladies. Especially when they drink coffee.

Honey Buns

Photobucket

Loving her bun in these photos and the honey-ness of this painting.

Who needs coffee in the morning when you can just look at bright images?

Just kidding. I still need coffee.

Ok, this is the coolest thing! so how many times have you tried
to enjoy your morning breakfast and gotten crumbs, milk spots,
or coffee stains on what you're reading? Korean designer Kim-Yu-Hun
has created a solution for those morning multi taskers who may be slightly messy...

A transparent plate that fits perfectly over your morning read! Goodbye coffee stains...

Thanks Fubiz for this fun find!
