Journals & Flats

It's the simple things in life that make the day to day seem a bit more magical.
A good pair of flats are always great. (I've illustrated my love for flats before.) I love a quality flat shoe. Slip them on, you know they look cute, but still feel free and comfy. Another one of my go-to flats just broke the other day. I wore them so much the heel just came off... it made me trip on the sidewalk... good times. So I'm on the look out for a new pair.

A good journal is another simple thing that adds so much to one's life. I don't know if any of you are big on journaling, but it's something that I used to LOVE. I did it all the time, wrote about the good things that were happening in my life, the bad things, I wrote down my prayers and my thoughts. It's something I have slowly stopped doing over the years and have recently had a craving to get back into it. Now I just need a new journal to get me going!

It's the simple things that keep the day to day beautiful. Keep that in mind today and you may be surprised at how you start to see the world a little differently :)

Happy Friday friends!!

It's in the Air

With the temperature being in the straight upper 70s and low 80s all this week- I've been in weather heaven. I know that summer is coming- I see it all over with the massive amounts of good fruit at the grocery store, and flowers blooming in the gardens. It makes me want to get out in the dirt, be surrounded by greens and do some gardening.

So far, I've gotten some succulents and I haven't managed to kill them yet... so we're good for now. This weekend I'll be planing some more goodies... we'll see how that goes!

Happy Wednesday friends!

gettin in the spirit...

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Mine was great- lots of food and family,
I even had the chance to intern once again for Blogshop with Bri Emery and Angela Kohler.
It was a great time. Now its back to normal for a while, but there is one little difference...

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can totally celebrate and embrace CHRISTMAS! I love
Christmas time. Listening to Christmas music, baking cookies, cuddling up and watching Elf,
its all so good. Holiday partys are so fun too.

So to celebrate, here are some Christmasy gems to get you in the spirit :)

Hope you enjoy! Merry Christmas time!

Dreaming

Nolan and I have been having so much fun looking and planning how we're going to decorate
our new place- we really can't afford Anthropologie, but seriously how darling are each of these
rooms??  I just love them and although they're a bit out of our price range, I can still dream- right??

Happy first day of summer!

To celebrate, I thought I would post one of my favorite summer combos.
Scarfs and shorts! I get cold easily, so I love my scarfs, but I also love to feel
summery, so I love my shorts as well. Wearing a scarf like having a cardigan on hand,
when its cold you keep it on and if you get too hot just take it off. You can find scarfs in
so many fun colors and patterns- you can't go wrong.

These all from Anthropologie, (who happens to be having a big sale right now)

Happy summer!

Beach Day Fun Times

With the weather being as beautiful as it is today, I'm dying to go to the beach!
Since I can't really be doing that today, I decided instead to dream about what I would
wear if I were to go to the beach today!

Here's my list of must-wears when I head to the sea shore:

Gotta have some shades to protect those sensitive pupils.

A light tank top to throw over your suit is a necessity in my opinion.

Some shorts for when you need to leave the sand for some ice cream. Make mine
teal and polka dot please.

Of course an orange bikini for that salty ocean water!

Bring it all together with by keeping a consistant color and you're set.
Don't forget the sunblock!
