It's in the Air

With the temperature being in the straight upper 70s and low 80s all this week- I've been in weather heaven. I know that summer is coming- I see it all over with the massive amounts of good fruit at the grocery store, and flowers blooming in the gardens. It makes me want to get out in the dirt, be surrounded by greens and do some gardening.

So far, I've gotten some succulents and I haven't managed to kill them yet... so we're good for now. This weekend I'll be planing some more goodies... we'll see how that goes!

Happy Wednesday friends!

I want to be a gardener

But I have to start small. See- I tend to kill all plants. I forget to water them,
I over water them, I break the pot it's growing in and never transplant them...
The list goes on.

But while I was up in the Northwest this past week, I got this strangely strong urge
to plant things. All of a sudden I want to plant tulips, vegetables, herbs, lilies, roses...

But because I am challenged in this area, I have to start small, with something low
maintenance and hard to kill.

My answer- succulents. They're easy, pretty, you can grow them in cute jars, tins
and even coffee mugs!

So here starts my gardening adventures- beginning small, and hopefully leading
to bigger and better things. My goal is tomatoes....

Baby Basil

So after we got home from the airport from our Seattle trip, I headed into the kitchen, fed our
fish, grabbed a snack, you know, the usual. Then I looked up on our window sill where I have
a few jars growing some spices. I just planted them about a week ago, and haven't seen any
green. But finally, there it was. Little green sprouts popping their heads out of the dirt!

I was so excited I had to take a photo and share it with you. These are my basil sprouts.
Can't wait till they grow big and strong so I can actually use them while cooking! Grow
little sprouts, grow!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
